Written by Sam Shepard and Patti Smith, the 1971 play Cowboy Mouth tells the tale of Slim, a cat who looks like a coyote, who is kidnapped by Cavale, a chick who looks like a crow. She dreams of making him a “rock-and-roll Jesus with a cowboy mouth.” In the first production, Cavale was played by Patti Smith, Shepard’s then-lover, while Shepard himself took the role of Slim, the only time he played one of his own characters. Jason Collett will make his theatrical debut playing the title role of Slim.
Performances commence on January 30 at The Cameron House in Toronto. Find more Information on dates, tickets and times HERE.
